How to send personalized investment information to a friend

November 13, 2015

If you're a Vanguard client and ever wondered how you can help your friends and family reach their financial goals, we can help.

Our improved Tell a Friend tool is easy to use, and it's a great way to communicate investment-related information to friends and family. Perhaps you have a relative who just retired and needs help with rolling over a 401(k), or a friend who just inherited money and doesn't know what to do with it, or maybe a companion who wants to start saving but may not know how.

It's all about giving the gift of knowledge. Friends, relatives, and other acquaintances you really care about can benefit from getting relevant and timely investment information from you. Now you can generate a customized webpage that contains information you think they'd like to know, based on the topics you choose for them. You also can preview the page before you send it.

Here's how to use it:

  • Log on to your Vanguard account.
  • Select Tell a Friend in the red bar at the top of the page.
  • Enter your friend's e-mail address.
  • Choose the topics you want to share.
  • Click Send.

Not yet a Vanguard client but have people you want to help? There's still a great way you can share investment information with them. We suggest your friends can go here and here to learn more about investment topics you think they'd like to understand.

  • All investments are subject to risk, including the possible loss of the money you invest.
